Entry Four: Web Site Design

When it comes to web sites in the classroom I think that it is okay to use them every once in a while, but not to completely rely on them. I think that classroom web sites can be an important means of communicating with parents and students, depending on the economic means that your students families are living with. Not all families have the ability to use a computer and you don't want to have it so that one or even more students feel left out of what is going on outside of the classroom. If I were to set up a classroom web site, I would use Google Sites after learning how easy it was during this past week.

  1. You make an important point that not everyone has access to technology on a regular basis. I have many students who either live with grandparents who don't have the internet or are in a low economic setting and can't afford it. It isn't fair that this child constantly has to use the school and local library resources to complete their work.
